I am an urban infrastructure and environmental professional with a Master of Science in Urban Infrastructure Systems from NYU Tandon School of Engineering, concentrated in environmental systems. My work sits where engineering, environmental science, and public decision-making meet: feasibility studies, cost analysis, environmental assessment, and the stakeholder work that determines whether a good technical idea ever gets built.

My core expertise grew out of the Rockaway Community Microgrid initiative, where I evaluated community-scale microgrids and distributed renewable generation as a defense against hurricane and flood-driven outages. I investigated NYSERDA program requirements, weighed technical, financial, environmental, and implementation trade-offs, rebuilt cost estimates, and recommended adjustments that strengthened the project's competitiveness against funding selection criteria.

That analytical foundation is grounded in laboratory and field rigor. As a soil and hydrology research technician at the Brooklyn College Environmental Analytical Center, I ran environmental monitoring and analytical testing, maintained quality-control procedures, and helped expand external laboratory services by roughly 30 percent. Supervising a phytoremediation research team, I guided interns through experiments that reduced lead contamination and cut soil salinity by as much as 40 percent in two months.

Across every role, I have made complex systems legible — to funders, agencies, multidisciplinary teams, and residents. Fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese and credentialed as a licensed community interpreter, I bring technical credibility and genuine community access to the same table. My graduate work at NYU Tandon centered on hardening vulnerable waterfront neighborhoods against hurricane-driven outages, combining infrastructure engineering, asset management, and urban resiliency planning.

Clean Energy & Community Microgrids

I evaluate distributed energy resources — solar, wind, geothermal, storage, and community-scale microgrids — against technical, financial, and environmental criteria. Working with NYSERDA microgrid program requirements, I built feasibility cases, refined cost estimates, and sharpened proposals to compete more effectively against selection criteria, including rooftop solar and islanding analysis for major New York City hospitals.

From green infrastructure stormwater performance monitoring to soil quality and remediation assessment, I generate the environmental evidence that keeps projects defensible. I have run pH, salinity, XRF, hydrometer, and organic-content testing, managed full sample chains of custody, and applied environmental impact assessment and geotechnology principles to real site conditions.

Technical work only matters if people understand it and support it. I secure programming funds, design workshops, and translate clean energy and climate resilience concepts for residents, students, and job seekers in underserved communities — including a climate resilience education program launched in collaboration with the Massachusetts Clean Energy Center.
