Professional Biography

Where the work comes from.

I am an urban infrastructure and environmental professional based in Brooklyn, New York, working at the intersection of infrastructure resilience, renewable energy, and environmental systems. I hold a Master of Science in Urban Infrastructure Systems from NYU Tandon School of Engineering, with a concentration in environmental systems, and a Bachelor of Arts in Earth & Environmental Science and Economics from Brooklyn College, CUNY.

My career has been shaped by a single conviction: resilient infrastructure is an equity issue before it is an engineering issue. That conviction took practical form in the Rockaway Community Microgrid initiative, where I evaluated distributed generation and community-scale microgrids as a defense for a waterfront community repeatedly exposed to hurricanes and flooding. I paired feasibility analysis, NYSERDA program research, and cost modeling with door-level community surveys — because the technical case and the community case had to be built at the same time.

Alongside that work I have delivered laboratory and field science with the same rigor: soil quality testing and environmental monitoring at the Brooklyn College Environmental Analytical Center, phytoremediation research I supervised to measurable contamination and salinity reductions, GIS-based demographic analysis of New York City, and green infrastructure stormwater performance monitoring.

I am trilingual in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, a licensed community interpreter, and an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the National Ground Water Association, and the Geological Society of America.

Professional Philosophy

Infrastructure decisions outlive the people who make them. I approach every assessment with three questions: does the analysis hold up under scrutiny, does the solution hold up under stress, and does the community it serves have a real voice in it? Rigor and empathy are not competing priorities — the projects that get funded, built, and maintained are the ones that earn both technical and public confidence.

Mission Statement

To advance sustainable, resilient, and equitable urban infrastructure by delivering rigorous technical analysis and building genuine partnerships with the communities that depend on it — so that clean energy, reliable service, and climate protection reach the neighborhoods that need them first.
